MONETA Group’s ESG Strategy

Mission
We are an innovative digital bank, that wants to deliver a first-class customer experience to our clients. We behave responsibly and with respect for the environment.
We believe that the new strategy provides invaluable support in integrating all the aspects that ESG entails into our corporate governance, lending, risk management or financing decisions, but also helps us in supporting human capital, CSR & philanthropic activities or reporting.

Vision
MONETA's strategy is to become a digital leader on the Czech banking market through fast and convenient sale and management of products and services. We strive to be the first choice for Czech households and small businesses. As part of the development of our banking offering for entrepreneurs and small businesses, we strive to educate our clients on how individual ESG factors can affect the viability of their own business strategies in the long term.

Values and Ethics
The values we uphold are an integral part of not just our culture, but society as a whole. They are given meaning by the people who fulfil them through their behaviour and attitudes. They include credibility and integrity, entrepreneurship, respect, accountability, cooperation and engagement.
Tomáš Spurný
Chairman of the Management Board and CEO
Business and financial risks in the banking sector are linked to economic and social transformation as a result of climate change. In previous years new European regulations have been issued and require banks to be more sustainable, behave more responsibly and actively manage climate risks came into force.
Implementing ESG measures will be financially challenging, but on the other hand they are essential: sustainability is not only important for the bank or the communities in which we operate. They are necessary for the whole planet. That is why I am extremely proud that MONETA has already woven sustainability into its DNA long before these standards came into forc : specifically, in 2016, when it became a publicly traded company.
We have set an ambitious, transparent and, above all, realistic strategy for the coming period, which is supported by consensus by both the Bank's Management Board and Supervisory Board. I believe that our commitments, which have become part of the financial and commercial objectives of management compensation, have moved our goals from the populist to the motivational level. I believe that all of this will lead to Moneta's successful emergence as one of the world's elite companies that are serious about sustainability.

Adéla Malinová
Senior Manager Sustainability
All banks in the EU are guided by the ESG principles of sustainable and responsible business conduct. The new regulation sets out how to incorporate sustainability factors into banks' operations and requirements for clients. These regulations build on the UN 2030 Agenda and the Paris Agreement, which commits Member States to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This is the first step towards mandatory reporting under EU standards. I am therefore very pleased that MONETA is keeping pace with sustainability leaders. In 2021, we revised our Sustainability Strategy and implemented 11 of the 17 officially set SDGs that best fit our business model and geography. These Goals build on our 2016 commitments and are being rolled out to 2026. With accolades including an AA rating from MSCI, MONETA aspires to be a sustainability leader in Central Europe.
